Media outlets are said to be on standby as it’s being reported The Daily Mail is likely to print a properly researched, well-balanced, informed and factually accurate story on its front page, for the first time ever this week.
Said one source close to the paper: ‘It’s something we’ve been thinking about for a while but we’ve never really had the nerve to do it, because in all honesty, the morons who buy our paper expect and demand completely made-up bigoted slurs against groups such as gays and lesbians, Asians, foreigners in general, Eastern Europeans in particular and indeed any other minority we can demonise. But at a recent meeting the editor decided that he would test the water just this once.’
The subject of the story is being kept a closely guarded secret but speculation is growing that it may be something to do with Megan Markle being an American.
Media Analyst, Bill Smee, agrees that it will more than likely be a Meghan story. ‘I think they’re on safe ground with that as it’s pretty universally unchallenged that she is an American. The reading age required shouldn’t exceed that of the average eight year-old, and they can also print Meghan’s picture too which always helps to put on a bit of extra circulation.’
Meanwhile the Mail’s source refused to give much more away. ‘If and when we do it, which in itself is a massive step, we’ll see how it plays with the readership, and if there are no major complaints then we may even try it again in a few years time. After all we don’t want to run before we can walk, do we?’
