Chris Grayling has confirmed that he has stepped down as Transport Secretary and that he has written a letter of resignation to Jeremy Corbyn to inform him of his decision.
He told reporters: ‘I have had a wonderful tenure in office, with many successes under my belt. My colleagues in the Labour Party have always been extremely supportive, however I think the time is now right to make way for a new man or woman in light of Jeremy Hunt having been asked to form the next government.’
‘I shall now spend my time helping British businesses achieve their goals by using my not inconsiderable skills as a leading light in logistics business acumen and know-how.’
When asked what he though of Mr Grayling stepping down Jeremy Corbyn said: ‘Excuse me. Who?’
