It’s being reported DUP Leader, Arlene Foster, has one thing in particular on her list that is non-negotiable, if she is deliver her party’s support to prop up Boris Johnson’s minority Tory Government as they have done since the shameless deal made by Theresa May.
The 10th Ballymena Loyal Orange Lodge Flute Band must triumph in this year’s upcoming X Factor competition or there will be no support, and it’s understood to facilitate the deal Boris has promised Simon Cowell a knighthood in the New Year Honours List.
A show insider who did not want to be identified said: ‘Simon’s on-board, and although we will go through the motions of staging auditions, heats and a grand final, the ‘Kick-the-Pope’ band will win and play for The Queen at this year’s Royal Command Performance.
Mrs Foster, speaking on UTV News said: ‘The band’s cover of the Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars Uptown Funk is going to be the soundtrack to Autumn, so it is, and with the band winning X Factor it will see Arts here in the Province being given a much appreciated shot in the arm.’
There is now further speculation that Mrs Foster, buoyed-up having won one concession, might now insist that the men from Ballymena go on to represent The United Kingdom in next year’s Eurovision Song Contest.
