Britain woke up to very sad showbiz news today, as in something of a departure from normal events in the circle of life, leading Telegraph journalist Alison Pearson reported the death of Dame June Whitfield… again.
A massive favourite with theatre-goers, film buffs and TV viewers alike, Dame June sadly first passed away on 29th of December 2018, so it came as something of a surprise when fans found that they were now going to have to grieve all over again. One said: ‘This is terrible. To die once was awful but twice just beggars belief. Talk about bad luck.’
Meanwhile Ms. Pearson who broke the news was keeping a low profile today after having taken the tweet down, although it has been noticed by some eagle-eyed tweeters that in her bio Pearson describes herself as a ‘Telegraph columnist… words nut, author How hard can it be.’ Well apparently quite hard rather tricky it would seem.
Speaking from the afterlife fellow author Mark Twain quipped: ‘It seems the reports of June’s death have been greatly duplicated.’
